Having vest extenders is definitely useful, particularly if you have a tall, skinny baby with a bulky cloth nappy. Vest extenders make extra room to accommodate the larger nappy, reducing the risk of compression leaks. Great for my very long slim baby to continue using vests that she would have outgrown in length but not width. One would have probably been enough since they rarely need washing, but we've found it useful to have the set of 3 so that we can always have a spare.
