Removing the Record fence was one of those wonderful delights even though I had paid too much for something to be so disliked. Your installation has given me the solution of how to handle the blade removal, but will need to add a couple more bolts. I used the bandsaw to cut away the material, nibbling away until everything inside the box was cut away. It didn’t come with a fence, so I put a Kregg on, that looks just about the same as the one photographed.

To ensure my fence and base were square, I clamped the base to the side of my workbench and carefully positioned the fence over the base, lining up the edges by hand. There’s always just a little bit of "drift" that prevents you from getting precise cuts even when you are using a fence. I can also assure you many of the engineers have only worked with their monstrosities on paper or a computer simulation. I used the miter guide to cut triangular braces, making sure that one side was about half as tall as the fence.

Delta bandsaw, I figured it would be used only for curved work, like rough-cutting cabriole legs, so I didn’t bother purchasing a fence for it. I replaced an Erika 85 (with all the accessories) with a Minimax 16” Bandsaw and haven’t regretted my decision for a moment.
