About this deal

A natural innovator and with a great sense of comedy, Emily Gravett has also become renowned for her creative and interactive approach to the bookmaking medium. I would use this book throughout KS1 as I feel its layout makes it a perfect art resource for the older children as well as being a great book for younger children to enjoy hearing and exploring. Hamilton's Year 3/4 English plans cover all of the statutory objectives of the National Curriculum for England's English objectives.

Rabbit, himself, is illustrated as off-white, with bits of colorful lines in the shading of his fur. That said it is a fantastic reference for children to see how mixed media can be brought together to make a singular and cohesive piece of work.Brilliantly witty, ingeniously constructed, and with amazing artwork throughout, Wolves was first published in 2005 and thrilled critics and booksellers alike. As a little child, she was quite fearful and I was thinking about her fears and so I thought it would be quite fun to have a book that was just like a list. when the rabbit reads the fragment about the tail of the wolf, it is shown in the picture that the rabbit steps on the tail of the wolf. Pete the badger likes to keep everything neat and tidy, but his over-zealous cleaning begins to have a damaging impact on the forest. She left school at 16 with GCSE qualification only in Art (grade A) and travelled Great Britain for eight years, living in "a variety of vehicles" and meeting her partner Mik.

And my Mom was really into doing lots of observational drawings, so we used to go out drawing together. On the cover, the rabbit looks small and inquiring, and looks with interest up at the title — an echo of the interest in the child readers themselves, looking up in the world, trying to figure it out.Another beautifully produced book about rabbits with impressive pop-up engineering (and a surprise on the last page) is The Rabbit Problem, also by Emily Gravett.

A slightly frumpy, highly energetic girl and her expressive toy monkey dramatize seeing different animals from penguins to well, monkeys. Explore reading basics as well as the key role of background knowledge and motivation in becoming a lifelong reader and learner. The alternative ending also creates a nice touch to allow the sensitive readers to wallow in an ordinary I also provided an alternative (although slightly unbelievable) ending for sensitive readers made of ripped up pieces of the book. However, a scrap of paper is illustrated on the right side of the perceived-ending that states a continuation in the story if the reader wishes for an alternative ending. I’ve never actually illustrated somebody else’s text or whole book anywhere and I find that that would be actually quite difficult.

This a children's book with some dark humor so I don't know that I would recommend it to younger students, but I could see how upper-elementary students would be able to find the humor in the story. As a teacher, the possibilities for activities in which students look through the eyes of different characters or even create their own versions of the book with different pairs are exciting. And I had it in a sketch book for a couple of years really just thinking, “Well, that’d be quite a nice thing to do. I like this story, and I think this is a very interesting pictures book because it has a very good plot. Emily first sprang into the limelight with the ground-breaking Wolves in 2005, which has been followed by such modern classics as Meerkat Mail, Little Mouse's Big Book of Fears, Monkey and Me and Again!
