About this deal

The Sisters of Battle are the army of the Ecclesiarchy. Clad in ceramite power armour, they carry an awesome array of weaponry with which to vanquish their enemies; the incredible wealth of the Ecclesiarchy ensures that they are equipped with the best wargear the Imperium has to offer. New rules in this latest codex include the powerful Harbingers of Dreaddebuffs, and the option to dedicate your mighty mechs to one of the Chaos Gods, getting their keyword and a gnarly new ability as thanks for your service. No longer buffs the invulnerable saves of nearby Sisters of Battle (instead grants Imperium infantry a 6+ invulnerable save). Each time you gain a Miracle dice at the end of a phase as a result of Vengeance, if this WARLORD destroyed any enemy units during that phase, that Miracle dice is automatically a 6. The majority of recruits into the Adepta Sororitas are drawn from the Schola Progenium, having been identified by the Drill Abbesses of those Imperial orphanages as suitable candidates from an early age.

A few may be transferred from outside organisations, in particular the ranks of the servants of the Inquisition, although this is relatively unusual and only undertaken following lengthy consideration. Ever a warrior first and administrator second, Vahl strides the battlefields of the 41st Millennium clad in Purgator Mirabilis, the finest warsuit of its kind and an ancient relic restored to glory by the Fabricator General of Mars himself. There are plenty more Sisters of Battle Characters following the expansion of the Adepta Sororitasrange during 9th Edition. Here’s some of the characters you might come across when looking into a Sisters of Battle army:

Army Weaknesses

In the wake of Vandire's downfall, Sebastian Thor was declared the 292 nd Ecclesiarch and the Imperium began the long process of rebuilding. Perhaps the most sweeping of changes Thor instigated affected the military forces over which the Ministorum held sway. What remained of the Frateris Templars was disbanded, under the terms of the so-called Decree Passive, which forbade the Adeptus Ministorum from controlling any "men under arms." The Sisters of Battle are also often attached to the Ordo Hereticus of the Imperial Inquisition and indeed serve the Witch Hunters as their Chamber Militant. Battle-sisters are recruited solely from the female progena or graduates of the Schola Progenium facilities spread across the galaxy.

When at last the vast cavalcade reached the gates of the convent in which the Daughters of the Emperor resided, Vandire found them barred and closed. The voice of the gatekeeper informed the High Lord that the Daughters of the Emperor recognised only the authority of the God-Emperor Himself, and would open their gates to no man. Vandire's attendants cringed in anticipation of an explosion of rage, yet uncharacteristically, the High Lord remained calm. The Pulpit of Saint Holline’s Basilica substantially different, now Infantry within 6″ count as being in light cover. The Adepta Sororitas 10th edition rules are available in the free Index from Games Workshop. The armyis focused on short-range firepower, particularly flamer and melta weapons, plus brittle but powerful combat units. As the recognised leader of the Adepta Sororitas, the Abbess Sanctorum is sometimes elected to join the ranks of the High Lords of Terra, while at other times she is subservient to the commands of the reigning ecclesiarch. The first clue that the T’au Empire book was incoming came hidden ina Warhammer Community post at the end of October, Games Workshop revealed the T’au codex would release early next year. No specific release date was given, but GWsaid it wouldbe one ofthe “first new codexes coming in 2022”.

Beacon of Faith is now not quite as useful, granting an extra Miracle dice that can only be used by the Warlord but does allow you to use an Act of Faith for a second time that phase. Nothing too crazy on the datasheet, but her real benefit comes from the auras and commands she can issue. She can also use the Hymns of Battle which are pretty strong and will really buff up nearby units.

Shield of Faith has seen some changes. It still grants a 6+ invulnerable save to affected units (again mostly the Sister of Battle units themselves) but the Deny the Witch element has been improved. Instead of attempting to Deny the Witch on a D6+3 you now just roll a D6 and on a 6+ the test is passed. This means you can now attempt to stop even those Psychic Powers with a high cast value. We’ve got Codex Grey Knights and Thousand Sons on the horizon (and the Craftworlders themselves will make an appearance at some point I’m sure) so having a 1/6 chance (1/5 with the appropriate Sacred Rite) of preventing anyPsychic power with all of your Sisters of Battle units will be a great help. Zealot The entire Imperium was gripped by an apocalyptic frenzy of doom and anarchy. Countless new sects sprung into being, many proclaiming that the God-Emperor was enacting His final judgement upon Mankind and that the end times were at hand.
