Just WOW.No, you don’t have to wait! The freshly boiled water can and should be used immediately for the safest feed. The NHS guidelines state that the water should be no less than 70°C, but this does not mean that you must wait for it to reach this temperature first before mixing with formula. Mixing formula with freshly boiled water is the safest way to feed, as it ensures any harmful bacteria are eliminated! Energy savings of over 80% compared with typical refrigeration systems could lead to significant savings if widely adopted. The RapidCool™ works by absorbing heat from hot liquids. After being exposed to heat, it will require a minimum of 3 hours before being ready to use again. The flask should feel cool to the touch.

A number of recommendations, and additional requirements were outlined which will help to further improve the system performance during future developments. WARNING:Adult use only. Inspect before each use and throw away at signs of damage or weakness. When making up a feed, follow the formula milk manufacturer's instructions. Do not use in microwave. Always allow RapidCool™ to reset before use and handling. Handle RapidCool™ carefully as the bottle base will heat up when in use. Is currently able to meet a large number of “End User” requirements, and offers even greater potential with some focussed developments during the commercialisation of the system. Within the project the system was presented to a World Leading distributor of beer, and achieved a positive evaluation and an offer to support future development and testing. How does it work? It’s easy-peasy! Boil fresh water, measure formula powder, fill RapidCool with hot water, add formula powder, and mix well, turning it upside down for at least 5 seconds. Then simply wait for the digital display to show a green Nuby logo and dispense the feed into your sterilised baby bottle. A 120ml feed will be ready to serve in only 2 minutes*. No cold-water baths to cool a bottle down, no having to reheat a made-up bottle, no worrying about making a feed correctly. Just a safe feed to NHS guidelines, day and night. Two separate control systems were developed. Initially the development of a control regime led to the development of a control algorithm which would “intelligently” implement the optimum cooling regime based on a number of parameters such as temperature, materials, volumes etc... As a result of this work a patent was filled based on the controlled cooling process. The first control system was based on a single can system, and a further “multi-can “control system was developed with additional features. For example this would not only operate automatically during normal, consumer use, but would enter into an alternative operating state during low periods of demand.To make the night feed, mix the formula with some hot water, give it a shake and then add the cold water. This safely kills bacteria in the formula while bringing the milk to drinking temperature straight away. It does the same thing as the Perfect Prep machine but this way you know you're using hot enough water (which is the issue with the Prep machine). Simple: Add the formula to your baby’s bottle, press the power button to release a hot shot of 70°C water that kills any bacteria in the formula, shake then press the button again to dispense cooler water Intrinsic hygiene features were developed and through working with a major drinks distributor the consortium were also able to establish that Rapidcool was hygienic and safe. Some further advanced features were proposed which expand on the hygiene of the system so that it not only inhibits contamination, but may actually enable the system to clean cans i.e. they are cleaner after using the machine than they were to begin with.
