The Riding Culture collection features pieces styled directly from staples in skate fashion which they have infused the latest safety tech. Their abrasion-resistant Riding Culture Chinos epitomise this approach. Hood SK11 and Hood K7 | Having used Hood’s lined jeans for many, many thousands of miles in all climates from the UK to Spain and the USA, we can say with all honesty that they are NOT too heavy or hot to wear. The SK11s are the slimmer fit (though still with plenty of stretch), and both are available with a range of armour options. Extremely well made in a huge range of sizes and with outstanding customer support, Hood jeans come highly recommended. Lined jeans will be warmer than single-layer jeans, but there can be big differences; Draggin’s most abrasion-resistant jeans use a flannel-style aramid lining, which is bulkier and hotter than a standard knit. Saying you shouldn't care about style screams right in the face of all that marketing jargon and your fellow riders at coffee stops constantly kibitzing about what they wear or you wear, how well it performs or doesn't and, of course, if it looks cool. See? Polarization. Of course, you and your posse care about looks. Duh! It's just that while you're on the bike, you should quit that thinking entirely and focus on riding. The key ingredient in chino pants is of course the chino twill fabric used in their construction. Here Riding Culture has replicated both the look and feel of traditional chino cloth. In reply to a comment on our video (see below), PPE expert Paul Varnsverry took a snapshot of the abrasion resistance tests – which are carried out using a properly calibrated Cambridge machine with a 60 grit belt –and studied all the results to find that of 53 motorcycle jeans tested, only 23 had an abrasion resistance score of two or more out of ten. They were all lined jeans.
