I really liked how Mary Catherine had the ability to look past the circumstances and see the hurting girl underneath. One of the most obvious of angel signs that happens through the clouds, is when you see a cloud that looks just like an angel. Your guardian angel may also drawn your awareness towards certain clouds that look like hearts, as well as many other shapes and symbols to offer guidance and validation for you, and to draw your awareness to their presence. Tyler shook his head. Angry tears filled his eyes. Of course it’s the end. The name on the medic’s uniform caught his attention. A name he’d never heard before.

Mary Catherine irritated me a little bit because she would not allow herself to fall in love, even though she did start to but kept telling herself not to, all because she has this heart condition. But in a way I kinda understood because she does not have a lot of time left and does not want to hurt the guy that she is falling in love with. He closed his eyes and filled his lungs with the ocean air. Hadn’t he known this would happen? When he got moved up from the Dayton A team last spring he had expected great things. I don't believe Mary Catherine was cold hearted or malicious by not telling them. She didn't want to be a burden on those she loved. She also didn't want Marcus to waste his time and heart on her when she wasn't sure she was going to live. She loved them, Marcus and her friends, and didn't want to burden them with worries of her health or to have them talk her out of this trip to Africa. She longed to help at the orphanage and felt like God was calling her to do that. I admired Mary Catherine's spirit. She loved life but most of all she loved God. She never once stopped praying to God for guidance throughout her entire story. Whether she was having a good day or a really bad one she never forgot her Lord. Tyler gritted his teeth. Tonight was where it would all turn around. He would Google his own name tomorrow and see something different. Tyler Ames: Perfect. Story after story would say the same thing. He’d made it. Finally found his way. He would be perfect and everyone would know. Maybe even Sami.

The story would have flown much better without their presence and even the Christian elements would have been improved upon. As it is, all the "bad guys" are non-christian and all the people who help Tyler are devout, faithful and all that shit, except they wouldn't do anything unless the angels nudged them more or less subtly. Sami Dawson most of all. Her name made his heart hurt. Sami, girl . . . where are you? What happened to us? He closed his eyes again. He had loved her more than life. But that was a hundred years ago. In Genesis 18, we read about Abraham and his visit from three men. One of the angels in the form of a man promised Abraham, “I will return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son” ( Genesis 18:10).

A series of small miracles leads Tyler to a maintenance job at a retirement home and a friendship with Virginia Hutcheson, an old woman with Alzheimer’s who strangely might have the answers he so desperately seeks. I felt bad for Marcus. Here he is madly in love with Mary Catherine and he doesn't understand why she's pushing him away. He knows their feelings are real, yet she won't fully commit to him. Even when he says he loves her and will wait for her even as she goes to Africa, she says she just wants to be friends. It takes a strong man of faith to love Mary Catherine and Marcus Dillinger is just that man. Although he's still new to his faith he loves God with all his heart and he relies on God to guide his footsteps. I have to admit Marcus made my heart swoon. Who wouldn't want a man who loves God desperately first and pursues you with that same determination?. He wasn't overly pushy with her but he was definitely forthright. I also loved how he asked God for a sign and God answered. I can't tell you how many times I've begged God for a burning bush or something to tell me what I should do. The second purpose of angels is to deliver a message from God. We cannot effectively pray to angels to deliver our petitions to God as some religions may claim. The beautiful oceanfront stadium had opened two years ago, and already it topped the list of places to see, things to do on the Florida Panhandle. The fans had bought into the Blue Wahoos, the team more than any individual player. Hearing the guidance of your angels is a beautiful sign of their presence, and is common when you are in need of comfort, reassurance, or angelic guidance. Angel Symbols What would his parents say after tonight? His father’s face flashed in his mind. Funny. Whenever he thought of his dad, he thought of him angry. Correcting his pitching form, scrutinizing his weight training, questioning him. The book starts out with a scene in heaven. Angels are given assignments. The reader is given a front row seat or bird's eye view of the messengers of His message - Angels. We then get the lineup of actors on the stage:

Angels are beings of love and light and so seeing unexplained shimmers of light, or flashes of light and color around you, or around another person is a clear angel sign! This may take the form of a bright star which catches your eye, shafts of light streaming down from above, a flash of light appearing without an actual light source, light shimmering off of an object in an unusual way, or the quality of air around you just seeming to shimmer and sparkle. Try closing your eyes, and if you still see the light, it's very likely an angel with you. Breathe, relax, and if you're ready your angel may expand the light before you, or envelop you within the angelic glow to bring you healing, upliftment, and rejuvenation. Seeing Lights While Meditating Despite needing a heart transplant and against the advice of her doctor, Mary Catherine moves to Uganda to work at a brand new orphanage. Again Tyler shook his head. The third signal made Tyler smile. At least on the inside. As I said in my review of Angels Walking the added element of angels did not detract from the story but rather enhanced it. At the end of the book Karen Kingsbury opens up and shares about a beautiful encounter with what her family credits to an angel among them.

Angels reach out into the Community

Angel clouds may look like an angel, or be in the form of another symbol that has meaning and significance for you. Have you ever noticed a lovely sweet scent and been unable to identify the source? This very well may be a sign from your angels! Angels often love to make their presence known through the power of scent. You may notice the presence of your Guardian Angel through a lovely rich and minty chocolatey smell, or the nearness of the Archangels through the sweet subtle scent of flowers.
