About this deal

Everyone can relate to failure but how we react to it can change our paths entirely and keep us moving forward. Every” misstep” is a chance to assess, learn and then move up and onward. I love the balance of personal stories, accessible writing, and strategies that are approachable for everyone.

Would you fail your way to success? or remain a failure? There are so many people who fail at reaching success and that’s fine, but what’s not fine is if you don’t get up and keep moving forward. You Are Awesome by Neil Pasricha is filled with life-related stories, tips when hardship approaches, and secrets that Neil learned throughout his life. Got this book for Bill my son, but ended up reading it myself. A book written for kids and young adults, but a nice read for parents as well. It talks about the usual stuff fixed vs growth mindset, see failures as learning opportunities, how to practice and how to break down goals into smaller parts. I may be biased. I had to study this in school. I received a copy for my end of primary school leavers gift. The only reason I still own it is for the messages my teachers wrote in it.My 7 year old might be slightly too young for this, but did listen with me and discuss it a little in the car. I was interested to hear if the author could talk to young people on their level about some quite mature issues. You Are Awesome can help you do just that, inspiring and empowering young readers to find the confidence to realise their potential. The first children’s book from Times journalist, two-time Olympian and best-selling mindset author Matthew Syed, it uses examples of successful people from Mozart to Serena Williams to demonstrate that success really is earned rather than given, and that talent can be acquired. With hard work and determination, practice and self-belief, and, most importantly, a Growth Mindset, there’s no reason why anyone can’t achieve anything. Resilence is a skill and often the people that are most resilient aren’t ones that have had the easiest path in life but are the ones that use those bumps in the road to learn and grow. Positively doesn’t mean you don’t have struggles, it means using perspective to take what you can from them and continue on. If you believe youcan'tdo something, the chances are you won't try. But what if you reallycouldget better at maths, or sport or exams? In fact, what if you could excel at anything you put your mind to? Learn How to Navigate Change, Wrestle With Failure and Live An Intentional Life; Neil Pasricha’s You Are Awesome Provides Solid Advice and Inspiration

Encouraging and entertaining child-friendly look at promoting determination, resilience and ambition. It can apply to girls interests as well or those sports minded but it didn't hit some more stereotypical feminine pursuits but it gives you the steps to do anything you want. Not just sports, and not just make up and fashion design or baking. (Or whatever Girls are into, I am a girl who into sports and LEGO, so figure that one out" With hard work and determination, practice and self-belief, and, most importantly, a Growth Mindset, there's no reason why anyone can't achieve anything. My name is Neil Pasricha (pass-REACH-ah) and I'm the New York Times / #1 int'l (blah blah blah!) bestselling author of ten books on living an intentional life including THE BOOK OF AWESOME (gratitude), THE HAPPINESS EQUATION (happiness), TWO-MINUTE MORNINGS (habits), and the poorly-titled YOU ARE AWESOME (resilience.) My books are published in a lot of languages I can't read and sold a couple million more copies than anyone was expecting.

I was immediately drawn into You Are Awesome because of how relatable the writing is. Neil Pasricha is charismatic and resilient and the writing is conversational like you are talking with a good friend. The story that really stood out to me was the one from his scholarship donor that was apart of the Harvard School of Business, where he told Pasricha "Find small ponds so you can be the big fish." What an interesting perspective; and for a college student wanting a job in a business related field it was something I had never thought about. Of course we want to work for the biggest and best companies, but we are all competing for those jobs, where we wouldn't do much work. Why not take the risk and be the big fish in the small pond and bring a business up from bankruptcy. It's a difficult job but it was interesting advice.

Practical, insightful and positive, this is the book to help children build resilience, embrace their mistakes and grow into successful, happy adults. If you believe you can’t do something, the chances are you won’t try. But what if you really could get better at maths, or sport or exams? In fact, what if you could excel at anything you put your mind to? But I cannot stress this enough: this book was so helpful to me, and I feel fortunate that it came into my life just when I needed it most. Equal parts reassuring and productive, You Are Awesome allows us to be forgiving and patient toward ourselves while also giving us the tools we need to build self-confidence and finally take that leap toward positive change in our lives. And when all seems lost, always finding a way to add a dot-dot-dot.You Are Awesome has been translated into a number of languages including Catalan, Spanish, Italian, German and Polish. It was released in The United States and Canada by the publisher Sourcebooks in July 2019. [5] Pasricha writes with compassion and proactivity and reminds us that we are all works in progress. Sometimes self-help books can help you feel heard but not really have a plan, or make you feel like you are being talked down to and make you just feel worse. You Are Awesome contains straightforward steps that make you feel less alone but also help you move FORWARD. You Are Awesomecan help you do just that, inspiring and empowering young readers to find the confidence to realise their potential.
