In terms of being able to find and play podcasts, both assistants have improved further since our last comparison. Alexa now lets you link your Apple Podcasts account like a music service, giving tighter integration for those on iOS devices and Macs, while Google Podcasts seems to have improved on the Assistant. Not only did both assistants easily play the most recent episodes of both "Wait Wait ... Don't Tell Me!" and "The Incomparable" podcasts, but they even handled the more obscure Australian show "Dragon Friends." The center and corner performances of the lenses must be stellar. Any imperfections will be blown up on 6.5K. There is no hiding place.
Likely the best action movie on our list today, Reign of Fire takes the dragon movie concept to a very modern setting in an exciting and sometimes terrifying way. Found accidentally in a very deep mine in 2020 England, a dragon emerges and immediately scorches the earth, beginning a new era of predator and prey. Starring Christian Bale, Matthew McConaughey, Izabella Scorupco, and Gerard Butler, the acting is great, the concept is original, and the effects are appropriate for its time making it an exceptional dragon movie. The idea is that a young kid can ask any Alexa-enabled device in the home to "Play Readyland," but a parent can also play the audio side from their smartphone with the free Alexa app. Play with the aid of Alexa: players have the option to play this risk game using Alexa. (The Alexa device is sold separately.) Anything greater than 60mm can be adapted, which makes this distance an excellent choice. You can get cheap medium format lenses, though if you have the budget for this behemoth of a camera and everything that goes with it, why would you want old lenses that are not rehoused for cinema applications?
If Alexa is the one for you, there's a compelling case for it. If, however, you prefer the Google Assistant and like the idea of using your smart speaker as a sleep guru, the Google Nest Hub (2nd Gen) might be one to look into. The difference is on the inside. If you’d rather not receive notifications in the evening, you can switch on Do Not Disturb mode, which will automatically silence notifications – both the audible tone and the yellow LED – between 10pm and 7am so as not to disturb you.
