About this deal

The original Laphroaig, distilled the same way today as when Ian Hunter invented it over 75 years ago.

Our packaging is eco-conscious: 100% recyclable, compostable, and biodegradable internal fittings made from recycled materials.

Although I was gifted a bottle of Ardbeg 10 at Christmas and that gives this a good run for it's money mind. Critic tasting note: "This expression offers an uncompromising note of brine-laden peat and iodine, with charcoal and sweeter fruit notes also present. The distillery's location on the Isle of Islay, known for its abundant peat bogs, allows Laphroaig to create whiskies with a character that is deeply rooted in the island's terroir. Laphroaig's commitment to direct-fired stills adds to the intensity of the peat influence, resulting in whiskies that carry a powerful and evocative smokiness.

As part of our ongoing dedication to environmental sustainability, Bottle of Italy has established a collaboration with Tree-Nation with the aim of planting trees in the most needy countries of the world, generating a positive impact on the environment, the air and local communities. Ages in seasoned oak barrels that were charred prior to distillation, this dram features lovely oaky notes as well as nut and vanilla and coastal hints. While we have taken care in preparing this summary and believe it to be accurate, it is not a substitute for reading the product packaging and label prior to use. Laphroaig 10 gets its distinctive taste from the natural features of Islay, the remote and rugged island off the West Coast of Scotland where the whisky is made. This full-bodied variant is the foundation of all Laphroaig expressions and comes with a long finish. On the nose there are clouds of smoke with an iodine infused sea spray topped with a sprig of seaweed.

This bottle of Laphroaig 10 Year Old 1990s (Damaged Tube) is an official bottling which was produced in the Islay region of Scotland. The palate shows peat smoke from the first sip plus an undercurrent of honey, finishing with black pepper heat. Each sip of Laphroaig whisky offers an immersive experience of Islay's untamed and captivating soul.

The scotch enthusiasts in your life will appreciate the warmth and hardiness after coming in from the cold. I believe this to be aged in Bourbon (although Laphroaig do make sherried 10 year old releases) - it has lovely warm, sweet, vanilla and caramel undertones. It’s what layers notes of Manuka honey and grilled bacon onto our renowned flavours of peat smoke and seaweed. This unique expression begins with the same time-honoured process that goes into our regular 10 Year Old Laphroaig®.It's like being dragged down to the sea shore in a storm and having your face pushed under the water before being pulled out and left to recover by a fire whilst having your cuts dressed with TCP and sticking plaster. Hilarious to read the bad reviews complaining that it doesn’t taste as good as bourbons like JD or other piss water American rubbish. This whisky has become slightly sweeter in recent years, and it appears beautifully on the nose, amidst the classic iodine/sticking plasters and cool wood smoke we love.
