I am happy that I have at last read a book by a Nobel prize winner, which I can recommend to everyone as it is written in a simple language that everyone can understand and connect with the feelings shared by the author. When I think of my mother’s violent temper, outbursts of affection, and reproachful attitude, I try not to see them as facets of her personality, but to relate to them to her own story and social background.
