About this deal

A remote you won’t want to put down The T3•R's learning remote has a spacious, clean layout and sleek, rounded shape that sits perfectly in your hand. With 95% of the nation’s favourite programmes***, there’s no need to pay for channels you don’t watch. The 500GB hard drive holds up to 300 hours of recordings, smartly organised into categories and series.

But, if that's not enough, I've rounded up 20 ways you can exercise and get fit without spending a penny, both outdoors and at home. Niggles are minor, but our principal caveat is the limited number of channels that can be recorded simultaneously – irksome, if you live in an area where the broadband speed isn’t conducive to care-free streaming. The service provides access to free-to-air TV channels and radio stations, including more than 70 standard channels and 15 HD channels – and that number keeps growing. Internet channels Connect to your home network and enjoy a great range of channels featuring free and premium online content.Flipping between channels is also quite fast, though it’s not instant – there’s still a delay of a second or two between each channel. That also has a pro-level of shuttle control, never again seen, instant forwards/backwards at any speed, ah the good old days. Hearst UK is the trading name of the National Magazine Company Ltd, 30 Panton Street, Leicester Square, London, SW1Y 4AJ. As with every Freeview device, the number of channels it can find depends mainly on your aerial and on the Freeview signal and reception in your house. The joy of free Freeview has over 70 TV channels, 15 HD channels* and 27 of the top 30 channels in the UK**.

The DD+ audio is only available on HD channels, and is pretty limited to films, recent dramas, that sort of thing. In 2021, Manhattan’s T3 boxes – its Freeview Play device that came without recording capabilities – was suspended and ultimately discontinued due to the global chip shortage. I think having an internet-supplied service might be the best option, so we're looking at the Manhattan '4' (I don't know if hers is a 2 or 3, but both are now a bit outdated, certainly the former). The Manhattan T3-R supports 4K (UltraHD) and HDR content, but for the time being, you won’t get to use it much.

Bad reception can and will affect the picture quality, but I can at least say that in my area, where reception is decent, the picture and sound quality – especially on the HD channels – were excellent.
