the hero is a shitty partner until about 92% of the book, and his “big grovel” to make up for his punk ass behavior is *checks notes* public sex with anal play👀 like? I loved the taboo relationship we see, the sexual tension and the slow builds to firecracker climaxes. The only other queer character of note in this book is Drake, Garret’s best friend who’s known as a “manwhore” and “player” later surprises Garret by being bi/pan👀 so y’know just playing into every stereotype about bi people. I was crying at the end of this and I was stunned that this sexy little voyeur tale had so much more to give.

I stopped a bit after they actually had sex, but this is by no means a slow burn since they get sexual within the first 10% of the book and then have a sex scene every other scene.Definitely read the TWs if you have struggled with any form of depression, but I thought it was handled beautifully. And that’s without touching on how EOM portrays sex workers or queer people🤦🏼‍♀️ tbh I felt iffy about queer rep in Praise (feel free to check out my review) but while book one just gave me weird vibes, this book made me mad. The hero also has some weird rhetoric about possessivenes and judging other men for not being ok with their women being a cam girl (probably the author's way of making him ok with her job as a cam girl) but that goes out the window when she tries to make him jealous of other men. When the 3rd act conflict hit, I was super disappointed that it seemed so predictable, after a story that was so unique and then. he did feel guilty for abit but that didn’t stop him for faking a profile and watching his step-sister get naked and play with herself.

It’s seriously, one of the most debilitating chronic illnesses, not just in mental health but in the entire gamut. It's enough time for the relationship to develop and grow, but not so much time that they are out of the "honeymoon" phase. Until the day I stumble on a certain cam girl app and find myself watching the one person I should never have watched—my step-sister.It's there in their thoughts and in their interactions with their family, and as we also get a glimpse into the past. In the last two weeks, my stepsister has gone from being the pesky little girl I watched grow up into the only person on the earth that I want to see when I open my eyes in the morning.
