About this deal

Doesn’t matter if you’re looking for your first pair, or on your 15th pair, these are a part of fell running culture, much like the Walsh. The heal support has dropped – a good thing as early shoes were too high and agitated the calcaneal (achilles) tendon. Firstly the studs will feel different but you’ll be glad for them, they’re going to grip and help stop you face planting. I have used the old white ones with the offset laces, which gave pretty much everyone who ever wore them HUGE blisters and cut up feet, then the 330's which I mangled into oblivion, and most recently the 333's which have been pretty good, though the uppers were the weak link in this shoe.

A light and comfortable shoe, dries quickly after getting wet and will get you out of trouble when you most need it! Even when fully saturated they feel light in comparison to other shoes I’ve run in, a testament to their ability to shed water and the upper fibres ability to release water.Forget road or trail shoes, in the peak of winter you’re going to need something with heaps more grip, oh, and don’t forget responsive and light – we can recommend a pair of mudclaw 300’s! Up to this point the furthest I’d run in the shoe was 5 miles at a time, so the 26ish mile route we would take would be a true test. The sides of the shoe are reinforced with a series of zig-zag support (webbing upper support) to hold the foot in place and these extend to the back of the shoe. Rarely does a shoe give you so much confidence to run through the worst of the mud and wet grass/rocks than the Mudclaw 300. Monstrous soft ground grip and the trademark precise race fit make it obvious why this shoe has been so enduringly popular.

There is no question of whether they will find traction, leaving you confident on technical descents, you will remain in control. It’s comfortable, secure, provides excellent traction and if laced correctly will hold your foot firm. They've been around for a year or so, and are very obvious on the race scene as there are so bright despite the best efforts of the mud and bog to diminish their insane brightness. META-SHANK™ (Generation I) - 3-finger polymer Meta-Shank™ aligns behind the metatarsals for greater forefoot flexibility and control when contouring, whilst retaining underfoot impact protection. Self cleaning comes through intelligent lug design (oh yes it exists – look at the variety of mountain bike tyre treads and applications) as well as the compound. The MUDCLAW 300 CLASSIC propels fell and mountain runners over the muddiest of terrains by delivering the ultimate grip in mud through an aggressive outsole. If you have a wide foot, this is good news because you may now well be able to wear a shoe that you were not able to wear in the past. and the compound feels very flexible when you run on harder surfaces- I wonder just how long the grip is going to last. From time to time carriers may deliver earlier or later, or on non working days however this is cannot be guaranteed nor should it be expected.

Beat the mud: The multi directional stud pattern ensures mud is released quickly from the outsole, so the studs are always able to deliver maximum grip with every step. Thanks to its new flatter heel, it can cope with hard-packed and road sections more comfortably and with greater stability than ever before. A Dual-C combination of medium sticky and hard sticky rubber ensures the studs stay strong over time and continue to deliver. It’s a pretty cool system actually as you can see at a glance, based on weight, if a shoe may or may not be suitable for you. At the front of the shoe, just behind where the toes would sit is a clearing in the sole with a META-FLEX™ this allows the shoe to bend without restriction when running.
