About this deal

This book, like the other books in the Ologies series, is assigned a fictional "author" who then acts as the narrator of the book. However while these are authored by Dugald Steer, other than Monsterology: The Complete Book of Fabulous Beasts, [5] they do not have anything to do with Dragonology or Dr. And the way older folk (who, let's admit it, never really gave up on that dragon cuneiform anyway, now did they? Ernest Drake, editor Dugald Steer, illustrators Helen Ward, Wayne Anderson, Nghiem Ta, Chris Forsey, A. Said to originate from the library of eminent Victorian dragonologist Ernest Drake, this book imparts to readers the secrets of the ancient science of dragonology, bridging the gap between dragon legend and fact.

It's great for both the young and old, I'm 24 years old and I love this book, my mom also really enjoyed it.The series contains information on dragons, including information about how to befriend and protect them as well as an alphabet of the dragon language, ancient runes, and replica samples of Dragon Scales. Causally spends Saturday night as an adult reading a spell about how to tame a dragon written in runes* "Drat. Exhortations to the person to "snap out of it" or to "stop living in cloud-cucko land" are rarely successful. Ernest Drake is presented in all its eccentric glory, happily bridging the gap between dragon legend and fact.

It's packed with all sorts of fun information and really does read like an old journal of someone who has spent decades watching dragons in their wild habitats. Drake reveals that one of the crucial goals of dragonologists is to preserve the magnificent creatures of their study wherever possible - a goal this tongue-in-cheek volume most affectionately achieves. This one is more for the younger readers, but it still contains a booklet that features some of the information provided in the other books of this series. All used books might have various degrees of writing, highliting and wear and tear and possibly be an ex-library with the usual stickers and stamps.May also contain light spine creasing or a few markings such as an owner's name, short gifter's inscription or light stamp. It's got some funny bits, and it's set up just like a kids' book about dogs or other animals, so that makes it fun. The series first launched in 2003 the United States and Canada by Candlewick Press and in the United Kingdom by Templar Publishing.

Templar's brilliant Dragonology books create a set of resources on the wildlife and science of raising or studying dragons to gladden the heart of any would-be student of these magnificent creatures. While the dangers of suffering from bites, burns, slashes from claws, death-by-constriction, tail lashings, venom attacks, and so forth should never be underestimated, the lesser danger of hypnosis is often ignored. Mock-serious academic advice on types of dragon, how to hatch and care for young dragons - all very tongue in cheek. I know I read it as soon as I got it, and the publication year says 2004, but I'm not very good at remembering exactly what year/how old I was when something happened, so that's just an estimate. About the Author: Dugald Steer (Author) Dugald Steer was born in 1965 and grew up in Surrey, where his love of books led him to study English Literature and Philosophy at Bristol. The Ology World series are beautifully illustrated fantasy books presented like they were encyclopedias with letters and flaps and folds galore. For true believers only, a lavishly illustrated volume by the world’s most distinguished dragonologist. He has written more than 100 books for Templar, including 11 titles in their hugely successful 'Ology series. What makes it worse is that "Dragonology" still stands as one of the higher-quality and more convincing of the 'Ologies'. The cover may have some limited signs of wear but the pages are clean, intact and the spine remains undamaged.
